Welcome to Renter Inc., a service that allows landlords to share reviews about their past tenants. Renter Inc (“Renter,” “we,” “service,” or “us”) is owned and operated by Renter Inc. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose your information when you use our website (“Site”). It also describes the choices you have regarding our use of your information and how you can access and update this information.

What information does Renter Inc collect?

Registration and Contact Information

Access to certain Renter Inc web pages and online services is not available to the general public and requires the creation of a Renter Inc account (“Account”).

When you register for an Account, fill out our contact form, or otherwise engage with our website, we may collect the following personal information from you (“Registration and Contact Information”):

  • Your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and/or password;
  • Business-related information to verify your company;
  • Transaction-related information for fraud prevention; and
  • Payment Method information if you purchase our products or services on our Sites.

Information We Collect from All Web Visitors

When you visit our Site, we collect the following information from all visitors:

Log Data

We collect a standard set of data from all visitors to the website. Also known as “log data,” our servers may collect information that includes your IP address, when your computer or device visited the site, the URL of the website you arrived from, and the type of device or browser you used to access the site. We also record whether you navigate to one of the other services owned by our parent company, Inflection.com, Inc.

We use standard web tools to collect basic information about how you use the Renter Inc website. We use this information to understand how groups of users use the site, to understand trends and where people come to our site from, and to improve the site.

This site makes use of tools such as cookies to collect various types of information about your activity and computer while you use the website. We only use information collected in the background to deliver and market our service

We have engaged Inspectlet to analyze the activities of visitors to this website, and Inspectlet’s authorized use of cookies and other tracking technologies enable it to have access to Personal Information of visitors to this website. Such access to and use of Personal Information by Inspectlet is governed by Inspectlet’s Privacy Policy.

Web Beacons

How do we use the information we collect?

Your information is only used to provide and market this service to you, which includes operating the website, remembering your preferences, conducting in-house research, preventing fraud or abuse, marketing you products or services offered by us, and to communicate with you and address your concerns.

Payment Information

All Payment Method information that we collect through the Site is used only to bill you for our products and services. The information is processed by a certified third-party service provider that is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (“PCI DSS”).

We Only Share Your Information in the Following Situations

With Your Consent: We may share your information when you give us permission.

With Service Providers: We use certain trusted third parties to provide services for us such as cookie support and payments processing. We only share the minimum amount of information necessary to provide the service. In addition, any third-party service provider we use is required to give your information the same protections described in this Privacy Policy.

Deidentified and Aggregated Data: We may share or disclose information we collect after deidentifying and aggregating it so it cannot be linked back to an individual person. We contractually require third parties to respect this practice.

Business Transfers: In the event that Inflection is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. However, the new entity will be bound by this privacy policy after the sale or transfer.

Fraud and Abuse Prevention: We partner with certain third party vendors to prevent fraud and abuse. When you make a purchase, we analyze your payment information and unique device identifiers (including, but not limited to, IP address, MAC address, geographical location, browser and operating system settings) to identify suspected fraudulent activity and block it. We may share information associated with activity flagged as fraudulent (including, but not limited to, payment information, email addresses, and unique device identifiers) with our security partners or law enforcement for further investigation.

Legal Process and Emergency Circumstances: We may disclose or preserve for future disclosure your information if we believe, after due consideration, that doing so is reasonably necessary to protect Inflection’s rights or property or to comply with a law, regulation, valid legal process, or to prevent imminent and serious bodily harm to a person.

Unless prohibited from doing so by law or court order, we will do our best to provide subjects – including candidates - of law enforcement requests with advance notice before we disclose their information to law enforcement, if we have contact information for that customer. We reserve the right to withhold advance notice where it would impede an investigation of identity theft, or in situations involving imminent physical harm or harm to minors.

Advertising on Renter Inc

Renter Inc works with advertisers to show you targeted ads. We use [ad/tracker tool] by [ad network] to show you these ads. We do not share your account information or any information that your candidates submit to produce these ads. Information Storage & Security

PERSONAL INFORMATION DISCLOSURE: UNITED STATES OR OVERSEAS

We do not transfer personal information to third parties outside of the United States or its territories during the preparation or processing of consumer reports.

We retain all of the information we collect or that you submit for purposes including fraud prevention, legal compliance, and to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

Your information is stored on secure servers in Northern California. While we use acceptable industry-standard practices to protect your information, we cannot and do not guarantee that your information will be absolutely secure. Here are a few other steps we take to protect your information:

  • We implement technical measures to prevent unauthorized access, and keep security patches and software up-to-date
  • Employee access to your information is restricted and audited
  • Sensitive personal information is stored in encrypted form
  • All personal information is encrypted during transfer (for example, when providing credit card information)

How long we keep data

Renter Inc will retain the information you provide to us for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Renter Inc stores and processes personal information solely in the United States.

Your Opt Out Choices

We use your Renter Inc registration information to send you email communications and information about your account. An account holder can unsubscribe from commercial emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link in those emails, emailing info@renterinc.com with the email address you wish to unsubscribe from, or by calling 1-888-813-0008. If you opt out, we may still send you service emails, such as emails about your accounts or our ongoing business relations.

Changes to and Deleting your Account

If your account information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, amend, deactivate or delete your account by making the change on our member information page or by emailing us at info@renterinc.com. We will try to respond to your request within 30 days. We may be required by law or regulation to retain certain account information associated with your use of the service.

Links to Third Party Sites

Our Site includes links to other websites whose privacy practices may differ from those of Renter Inc. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any website you visit.

Social Media Widgets

Our website includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, the Share this button, or interactive mini-programs that run on our site. These Features may collect your IP address, may index the page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

California's 'Do Not Track' Law

When you browse our website, we may use trusted third-party tools to analyze website usage, monitor performance, and prevent fraud. Renterinc.com does not currently respond to browser settings such as Do Not Track. Third parties, such as our fraud prevention tools, may also collect personally identifiable information regardless of whether or not you enable the Do Not Track setting in your browser, however, this data is used specifically for fraud and abuse prevention and will never be used for marketing purposes.

California Information-Sharing Disclosure

We do not share your personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes without your permission.

Children's Information

Renter Inc is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have collected personal information on a child under the age of 13 via Renterinc.com, we will promptly remove it from our systems.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to the privacy policy that affect your rights, we will post a notice on the site prior to the change becoming effective.
